tim come see us in the chat room and hang out for a while :)

Hi Tim,
You're in the right place, among friends you can confide in, and be pissed. Let it out, vent.

I'm sorry you're having a bad time, but your reaction is a healthy response, I DON'T BLAME YOU FOR FEELING BAD.

Michael

Tim, has your therapist taught you some things to do to get through some of this? The diagnosis of PTSD means that something happened and you most certainly, as with all of us, have to suffer some consequences. The good deal for us is, that men and women devote themselves to trying to help us in these times.

Try not to let yourself get to a point where you start to lose hope. Hope is a terrifically powerful weapon we have.

I will look around, but I think there may be a paper on PTSD somewhere here. For certain there is a link to DAVID BALDWINS TRAUMA PAGE. This is a good site to get familiar with as you deal with PTSD.

Tim, since you are dealing with this at an early age, you have the possibility of getting through this with much less harm to your psyche than if you waited for many years to combat it. Good for you Tim. If is really hard for males to have rape happen to us. But we are getting the help of quite a few therapists now who specialise in helping us.

Tim:

A lot of helps for male survivors, including those
of us diagnosed (dx) with PTSD, can be found here:

https://www.malesurvivor.org/survivor%20web%20resources.htm

At this link you will find among other things links to David Baldwin's Trauma Information Pages that Bob mentioned, as well as the Sidran Traumatic Stress Foundation, both of which I have found helpful.

Here is a link to Fred Tolson's excellent article for adolescent male survivors, "Be Silent No Longer"...

https://www.malesurvivor.org/articles/bsnl.htm

...and some other articles for male survivors that might be helpful to you:

https://www.malesurvivor.org/adult%20survivors.htm

Tim you suffered a horrifying experience. I hope some of this stuff will be of some help to you, and that you will find help & support here on the Discussion Board of MS. Take care.

Victor

Tim:
You said in an earlier post that you're from NJ. If you let me know where you are located (you can pm me if you'd like), I can try to identify someone near you who might be able to help.

Ken

Tim,

AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhooooooooo.

Hey, Tim, It's me David. What you just heard is one of the ways that we welcome a brother wolf to the pack here at Male Survivor.

Come back, younger brother, and let us know that you hear the howl and will respond with your own greeting.

No, there are no secret hand shakes, so don't worry about that, but you have to let us know that you'll hang with us and give us a chance to be your pack, your posse...your brothers in this struggle of finding ourselves.

Welcome, Tim, glad you're here,

David
