Jacob,

This could be a case of self-fulfilling prophecy. Most of us, me included, were trained to believe we weren't worth anything and therefore cannot accept good feelings and results. And we end up sabotaging ourselves.

Again, the way you are so self-critical is like me. Since we were the subject of so much criticism, we tend to believe it and become overly critical of everything we do.

I would ask if you are in therapy. If you aren't, I would advise starting it. These are issues of self-esteem and confidence that need to be learned to overwrite the old tapes we have been playing for so long.

As Mike would say, the Committee of Assholes in our minds tend to work a lot of overtime.

Peace,

Marc

Jake,

Yeah, let the Committee of Assholes have a long (long) vacation. There are a lot of moments around us, no matter how bad we think we have it, to enjoy. So enjoy those moments, it's okay to enjoy them. There is no reason to make up our own bad moments.

I enjoy the fact that the sun rises every day. Even on the gloomiest of days, it comes up. It's absolutely amazing, behind all those grey clouds, rain, and lighning is this bright warm sun waiting to shine upon us.

Take care and enjoy,
Bill
