What does healing mean for you? That is usually where I start in therapy. I take a person centered approach where I collaborate with clients to give them a therapy plan just for them. My clients are the experts of their own life and experience, I approach my role as a therapist as one to empower and help guide my clients as they pursue goals we come up with together. I work with adults of all ages and teenagers 13 and up.
My career has been spent working with survivors of trauma. I started working with survivors of sexual abuse in 2016, first working with teenage boys who went through sexual abuse, often at the hands of a family member. Since then I have worked with survivors of varying types of violence: online sexual exploitation, grooming, domestic violence, war trauma, sexual abuse, torture, forced marriage, religious trauma, and trafficking. In addition to working with survivors, I also work with family members, parents, partners, and other affected individuals as they work to navigate this space. Many of my clients are men. For some they are processing abuse they faced as a child, for others the abuse occurred in their adult life.
I am trained in both EMDR and ART (accelerated resolution therapy). If you are interested in working with me, I am happy to do a consultation call at no charge. If I am not a good fit, I also know a lot of good therapists and am happy to help you connect with them as well.
